Honeck, John W.
Hamlin: John passed away suddenly on 10/20/15 at age 55. Through his work at Lifetime Assistance John dedicated his life to helping individuals with developmental disabilities live with dignity and independence. The betterment of humankind was not only his career, but his passion. John was a devout Catholic and activist who believed it was his duty to fight for social justice on a global scale, working closely with both Pax Christi and ROCLA on causes both close to home and in Latin America.
John was an avid tennis player and could often be seen at the Brockport high school courts working on his backhand. John was a sports fan, rooting for the Sabres, Bills and The Boston Red Sox.
John is pre-deceased by his mother Constance and is survived by his wife Brenda and children Megan, Kate and Liam, his father Richard Honeck, brother Thomas, aunt Margaret Barr as well as the family's cat, Dot. He also leaves a large extended family.
Calling hours will be held at Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Avenue, Brockport on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. His funeral mass will be On Monday at 11 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (SEAS) in Hamlin, where John was an active member.
John will be missed by all that knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Lifetime Assistance or The American Diabetes Association.
