Obituary of Bernice C. Robinson
Please share a memory of Bernice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bernice Coffield Robinson, born August 31, 1909, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 18, 2012 at the age of 103. “Grammy” as she was known to many of us, was a kind and compassionate woman with a great love for her family, near and far. She also loved pets, the environment, charities, travel and history. Grammy loved to read and even at the age of 101 would check out 5 novels from the local library and have them read in a week and be ready for more. Bernice was a loving mother to her two children, Ted and Beth, as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted wife to her husband Charles who passed away several years ago.
Grammy Bernice believed fiercely that we should all try to help make the world a better place by helping those less fortunate. She was a devoted churchgoer and even helped to build a church in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Bernice (pronounced “Bernus”) was often asked what her secret to longevity and health was, and she would answer, “Clean living! No drinking, no smoking, and church on Sunday.” She will be missed by family and friends alike. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation at http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .Thank you.
