I have many special memories of Grammy. For example; when I was a small child I loved to sit under her dining room table. It was a special “kids only” space. She gave me my first collectable owl from her own personal collection. Later, when I was about 8, I stayed with Grammy (and Pappy) for a month in summer. It was so cool that in my early 20s I spent another long vacation with them in Arizona. We all had wonderful adventures hiking, sightseeing, and at social events. I love Grammy very much; she would say to me “I’m glad to see you” and “I love you too” and I knew she really meant it.

Grammy Bernice was a kind and generous woman. My life and my children's lives are ever so much richer for having been able to really get to know her. Rest In Peace, Grammy- I'm glad you get to be with Pappy now. I love you!
