Obituary of Alana K. Johnson

Alana K. Johnson, 76 of Hilton, NY passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, in her home.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Johnson of 56 years. She was born on May 6 th, 1947, in Erie, PA and was a graduate of McDowell High School. She was the daughter of the late Eberte and Grace Kelly. Alana completed her studies at Roberts Wesleyan College and SUNY Brockport earning her Master’s Degree in Education. She started and finished her teaching profession of 32 years at Gates Chili Central School. She touched the lives of many during that time. She was a member of Pearce Church. Alana was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games with friends and family. Her facial expressions and sense of humor kept us all laughing. Fellowshipping with friends at Brockport Free Methodist Church, Pearce Church and Lighthouse Christian Camp were a blessing to her. She met many new friends in Mesa, AZ and Hudson, FL during her winter stays. Her family and friends were of upmost importance to her. She loved and cared for each and every person that she met and will always be remembered in our hearts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters: Lisa Smith and her husband Todd of Churchville and Heather Kendall and her husband Brandon of Queen Creek, AZ. Alana is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Rebekah (Smith) Reynolds and her husband, Justin, Rachel (Smith), Caleb (Smith), Joshua (Smith) and Seth (Smith); Carleigh (Kendall) Babcock and her husband, Eric, Maeghan (Kendall), Talan (Kendall), Cruz (Kendall), Ava (Kendall), and Kole (Kendall). She recently became the proud great- grandmother to Boston (Reynolds) and Ranger (Smith). Additionally, she is survived by her younger sister, Wilma (Kelly) Treichler and her husband, Gary.

We will be honoring her life on Sunday, June 2 nd at 2:00pm at Pearce Church, 4322 Buffalo Road, North Chili.
