To all of Kim’s family,
You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. I first met Kim when I was Annie’s preschool teacher. I was just starting to teach at BOCES. Kim made such an impression on me. As a young mother who adored Annie, she wanted only to do what was best for her. With the births of Kim and Eddie her love and devotion to her family grew. Over the years her confidence and skills grew to impressive strengths. I was absolutely delighted when Kim chose to share her skills with our students and work in our preschool program. She was an advocate for our students and a tremendous support for the classroom. One summer the preschool program was expanding, and setting up a new classroom in Hilton. Furniture and materials were being delivered, but we hadn’t been able to hire a teacher. As I started trying to organize the room for the start of school, Kim and Annie showed up. They both volunteered their time for two days. The classroom was ready and welcoming on the first day of school, when a brand new teacher started his career at BOCES. Both he and I were so grateful for the support.
I hope your grief is lightened a little, as you think of her with pride. You were the most important part of her life, but she was strong enough to share her love with many others. She touched the lives of so many children. She will be remembered and missed.
