My condolences to Jud’s extended family and his beloved wife D. In 2011, fifty years after a significant victory for our MHS City Championship football team, Jud contacted each member of the team weeks before the anniversary of the event and spoke with each of us by phone, reminiscing about our glory days on the field. A fond memory of a true leader.

Judson was a great role model for all his teammates at MHS and a class leader. It was my pleasure to have been exposed to him in my formative years on and off the field. His blocking of bigger defenders was amazing and he shared his secret to make contact at a slight angle not straight on to their body.
My sympathy to all the family and friends of Jud.

I looked up to Judson throughout high school and after as a leader ,someone always positive and a joy to be around. I only wish that could have been more often. My heartfelt condolences to Dee and the family.

Jud and Dee have been my close friends for many years. We double-dated often in high school, and later, with my wife Molly, we enjoyed visiting with them on Murphy High cruises and by telephone. Jud and I were football teammates at both Murphy High and Vanderbilt. He was an extremely gifted halfback and cornerback, displaying amazing speed, quickness, and toughness. His zooming, diving entrance into the fray during game films prompted me to nickname him “Batman.” His leadership qualities were represented by his selection as co-captain of the football team and president of the senior class. He was loved, admired and respected by many of us, and sorely missed by all of us. Love, comfort and prayers to Dee and their wonderful family.

I only got to know Jud the one year at MHS, 1962. It was obvious he was a leader both on and off the football field. It is with great sorrow for his loss and we wish his family and friends sincere condolences. He will be missed by all his friends, teammates and classmates. RIP Jud. “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” John 5:28,

Kind thoughts and memories are offered for Judson, Diane, their children and friends.
Judson was not only a fine student and great athletic contributor but also a leader of high integrity. He was an excellent, multifaceted athletic competitor. He was always fair to people and focused on good objectives and outcomes. Even with the opportunity to be crazy during our Vanderbilt football recruiting trip he maintained a responsible demeanor.
I offer my best wishes for Diane and family in adjusting to the hole Judson has surely left in peoples lives.
