I'm so sorry to have missed the service, but I want to let you know that I still miss watching "Georgie," as my family members called him, walk his dog up and down Main Street. He went to school with my uncle, Roy, Jr. and was probably one of the friends who got together to claim a pool table from downtown and PUSH it all the way up Main Street. We played many games of pool on that table -- but I still have no idea how they got it down into the cellar!
"Georgie" told me how, as a boy, he would watch my great- grandfather carry his cans of milk from the end of South Avenue, and put them in his basement across the street. He was a very nice man, and a fixture on South Avenue who will be missed. I'm so sorry for your loss.
