Dear Tony,
You reminded me of how much Mary Anne loved my poetry, and asked if I was still writing, and I haven't for too many years. However, the memories inspired me to compose something in her honor.
Mary Anne, you've given us the gift
of knowing you,
Your kindness and your grace
will be with us
No matter what we face.
You saw the moon
beyond the garden wall,
And called to it
although it could not hear.
The crickets, peepfrogs, songbirds all chimed i.
Your voice will linger
whispering in the trees.
We'll miss you,
but treasure memories...
Your words, your smile,
Your Polish recipes.
Your children are your legacies
of a life lived full and well
With wisdom, poetry, and laughter.
