There isn’t room here to tell you how much I loved Joe and how much he meant to me as a professor, mentor, and friend. Smart, kind, compassionate - he was always available to laugh, guide, celebrate and share. A few years ago we both gave a eulogy at a memorial service and I was so honored to share that task with him. We made sure to touch base at least once a year. While words fall short, I Hope you find comfort in the stories and memories you share about Joe. I hear his voice often in my work and it often moves me to make the patient and right decision. He was truly one of the good guys. I rarely heard him say an unkind word about anyone -but the rare time he did — it always made us both laugh!
