My sincere condolences to the family of Don Swanger. I want to thank you for your support and friendship for the past 42 years. Thanks for the support of family during the 11yrs I was married to Ellen. Thanks for never rushing to judgement, thanks for your patience and guidance as We were just two kids starting our own family. You were and always will be an inspiration in all things I do and encounter in life. You had a great run, and I could only hope for the same. Sweden Center will never be the same. Thanks for the memories, Thanks for your service to our country, thanks for a lifetime of friendship. May you R.I.P. God Bless.

Heaven has gained another angel ... an angel who was loving, kind and strong. Although he was not my blood, Donald Swanger was, without doubt, my family. Thank you Grandpa Swanger for all the great memories; thank you for all the amazing stories; thank you for all the experiences, experiences Don, the kids and I will cherish forever; thank you for always making me smile; but thank you most for you unwavering acceptance and love. Rest in Peace good sir knowing you are loved and will be missed! <3 Cori (granddaughter in-law).

So sorry for the loss of your dad. I have great memories of him when I would go to the bus garage with my dad (Gene Wilkinson). Then as a bus driver he was always so helpful with a smile an twinkle in his eye. I'm sure he was met by my Dad in heaven waiting for his friend, Don.

Terry and Kathy,
I'm sorry and saddened to hear of your loss. He was the first one to shake my hand at church when I came in. Always had a gentle smile and a friendly hello. I sure will miss that. Always made me feel welcome, always felt he was down to earth and sincere. One of the good ones that's for sure.

Ellen, I don't remember a single moment in my life when I don't know your precious dad. As you know,he was a very close friend of my dad's,and our family just loved him and you all. We knew him from the Sweden Center days, and only remember the sweetness that he posessed and the kindnesses that he showed. My deepest condolences go out to you and wish that I could be there with you at this most difficult time. There's just something about dads and their daughters that is a special bond that can never be broken. Please know that Mike and I are praying for comfort for your family. All my love, Lizzie( Sabo) Grey

Uncle Don has been a part of my life for a very long time. My parents and us kids would go to their home down the road, by the Sweden Center store and town building. Later after I got married I would see him and Alice at gun raffles and VFW dinners. He always had a story, sometimes aunt Alice would blush at his stories he would laugh and keep on telling it anyhow. Donald was my fathers uncle, I guess that would make him my great uncle. And a Great Uncle he was. Love Dawn and Rich
