Lyons, John (Pinky)
Brockport: On February 23, 2016 at age 86. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris; daughter, Karen Hann (Roger) of Kane, Pa; and Son, Bob Lyons (Jennifer) of Pen field, NY and grandchildren, Evan and Will Lyons.
Pink, as he was known to most, started life in Thornwood, NY, the son of Will and Gladys Lyons and brother of Bill. Fishing and hunting was his way of life in youth and continued throughout his long life. He graduated from Pleasantville High School and eventually joined the Navy where he became a Seabee (member of the Construc tion Battalion) during the Korean conflict. When his tour ended, Pink became a police officer for the Town of Mount Pleasant Po lice Department and eventually achieved the rank of sergeant, re tiring in 1981. At 51, he chose a second career and did what he loved best…. he was a skilled and accomplished carpenter; he could build it all.
Fully retiring in Brockport he stayed busy (he could never just sit and relax!) enjoying many home improvement projects, fishing, gar dening, watching the NY Giants and enjoying his grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 2-4 pm at Fowler Funeral Home at 340 West Avenue in Brockport.
