Womble, James Lester
Spencerport: Passed away with calm assurance of his destination on May 17, 2010 at two months short of 89. He is survived by Janice, his wife of over 50 years, by sons, Matthew and Robert (Rachel), by grandchildren, Travis and Paige Womble, by his sister, Dorothy Akins, by brothers-in-law, Melvin (Beverly) Marion, David (Vera) Marion and Allan (Patricia) Marion and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Debra Womble, by his parents William and Rosa Womble and by brothers John, Clarence, Andrew and Lloyd.
Mr. Womble was native to southern Missouri and served in the Coast Guard in WWII from 1942 until 1945 in the Pacific. He moved to the Rochester area in 1960 where he accepted a position as Business Manager for a large automobile dealership, a job he would keep until he retired in 1987.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 5th at First Baptist Church, 124 Main Street, Brockport, 14420. No prior calling hours; private interment at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Brockport or Hospice of Rochester, 3111 S. Winton Rd., Rochester, 14623.
