Obituary of Louis W. Mehserle

Louis William Mehserle, 75, of Clarkson, N.Y., died Tuesday night, Feb. 12, 2013. Born June 18, 1937, in Irondequoit, he was the son of the late William and Helen Swick Mehserle. He was the husband of Carol A. Brundage Mehserle, his wife of 49 years, who died in 2006. He attended Brockport High School. He served in the Air Force, stationed at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, N.Y. Many years ago, he had a garbage route in the area. He worked in the grounds department at SUNY Brockport for 15 years. He and his wife owned several local restaurants, including Connors Corner and C&L Luncheonette in Brockport, and spent many years running Carol's Country Kitchen at the Craft Antique Co-Op in Hilton. He was a member of the Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association; the Brockport Fire Department; and life member of Brockport Firemen's Exepmts Club. He loved music, often singing and playing the guitar, harmonica and piano. He also enjoyed woodworking, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are children and spouses Tracy and Ernie Ross, and Michael Mehserle, all of Brockport, Greg and Patti Mehserle, and Vicki and Jon Remington, all of Nevada; grandchildren Jamie Chapman and husband Brady, of Maryland, James Mehserle and girlfriend Heather Brock, of New York, and Kelly Mehserle, Jessica Mehserle, Phillip Remington and girlfriend Dobnei Hintze, and Rachael Remington and fiance Shane Coleman, all of Nevada; great-grandchildren Isabel, Derek, Emma, Amilia and Preston; siblings and spouses Shirley and Karl Burlingame, of Florida, Bernard Mehserle Sr., of Massachusetts, Robert Mehserle, of Hamlin, Beatrice and Robert Farrier, of Georgia, and Dwight Mehserle, of Brockport; sister-in-law Carmela Mehserle, of New York; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by siblings Bernice Hayes, C. Louise McConachie and Douglas Mehserle; brother-in-law John McConachie; and sister-in-law Chun Mehserle. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave., Brockport. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the funeral home. Spring interment of ashes at Lakeview Cemetery in Brockport. Those wishing may contribute to the Brockport Firemans Exempts.
