Nick, I can still see your smiling face running after the ball in our soccer games. You were always tougher than your size, willing to take on any opponent. You have entered your rest brother. Your patrols are completed. Join the saints that have gone on before. Thank-you for your service, courage and example. Thank-you for being willing to serve our nation that we might be safer. Thank-you for helping protect the lives of your fellow soldiers and the citizens of Afghanistan. We will miss you, and are praying that the Holy Spirit comfort your mom, dad, sister and friends and fellow soldiers you have left behind. Truly, Nick you have lived a life of significance and we will see you on the other side in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have memories of SSG Nicholas Reid by receiving updates from his mother, Dorothy at work. She would inform me of his latest military training and his deployments. I always looked forward to those discussions. Now, I will pray for a new spiritual relationship with Nicholas.

I remember Nicholas as a small boy many years ago. I was a member of the 140th N.Y. Volunteer Infantry reenacting group with his dad. My deepest sympathy goes out to his parents and family. You will all be in my prayers.

I know that words won't make your sorrow any easier - they are meant to show how deeply others care.
My daughter, Shelby Clark graduated with Nick and was especially fond of him. She is serving with tha Army in Jordan and looked forward to spending time together once they were both home.
My sincere sympathy and prayers will always be for you.
