Gave Her Love
News of the morning brought me sadness this day,
It made me to pause and to take time to pray,
Pray for my sister Annie and my niece with her there,
Who gave to her mother such love and good care.
Care she needed due to her sickness and older age,
My niece Mary with her husband Dearrell did engage,
Engaged with a love that was strong in their heart,
Gave peace and comfort before this life she depart,
There is no greater gift to one another we can give,
Then the compassion of love in this life that we live,
My sister Annie gave her love to all that she knew,
She was ever a lady in the good that she would do.
To record what in memory of my sister that appears,
I look back on her life spanning 87 productive years,
Filled with love and caring - with innocence and grace
The innocence of a lady who the love of God embrace.
She cared deeply for others always tried to do her best,
What unpleasant and wicked with her love she contest,
She always showed concern for things not understood,
She thought all should be perfect, loving, kind and good.
These thoughts about my sister quickly come to mind,
Thoughts of her love and kindness so easy for me to find,
I know to God our Creator that she has found her way,
Is at peace with love and Perfection forever now to stay.
