I remember Darwin teaching the 1st Responder Course at Owens Illinois in the mid-80s. He was a fantastic teacher and a very nice man. I am sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Fran and the family.

Dar was a good man who was honestly committed to helping, teaching and doing for others.
I have many fond memories of working with him in Hamlin and especially at Kodak for many years.
Rest in peace my friend; you have done well for so many for so long.

My first thought is of Fran and Dar's family. They've had a long ordeal of providing support and comfort throught his battle with cancer.
I'll miss our visits. During many of, I was convinced that he would get better and go home.
He was the best when it came to First Aid. It was reassuring to respond to an ambulance call and find you would be working with Dar.
Rest easy Dar. You fought a valiant battle.

It was two days before Christmas when I last saw Darwin LaDue. Jim Webb picked me up and we drove to Monroe Community Hospital to sit with our old pal. Our personnal presence there was important to us. We visited with him as best we could while his caregivers occasionally joked with him. We talked EMS, fire and about our years of working together at Mr. Eastman's once great factory. Dar could only whisper in reply to our conversation. Only human,Jim and I were filled with all kinds of emotion, but we were able to make our friend smile a few times and that was good.
Family and his beloved Fran of 56 years arrived and he smiled more. I will always remember his good-bye to me; a wink of the eye and a gentle squeeze of my hand. It was precious.
If I count the many blessings in my lifetime, knowing and having Darwin LaDue as a friend and colleague would be near the top.
And so our pal with the trademark combed back hair and quick smile is gone. We're sad for his absence, but I'm betting he is with his Lord today as I write this; where there is no more pain; no more suffering, and he knows all is well.
Rest easy old buddy. Rest easy.
