The one thing I remember well is Uncle Vernon holding both mine and Leslie's hand at the cemetary when Donnie died in 1967. I was very comforted by his compassion and wished I could have known him better.
I also remember how proud I was to have an Uncle that would take both my parents on that fishing trip in Canada. I know Dad loved that time. I pray for god to send comfort to the entire family during this time of sadness and may your many memories sustain all of you in the future.

I first met Vern when I showed up to work in his group 50-years ago from college. He was a joking kind of guy and suited my needs well. After I moved about at Kodak over the next few years we saw less and less of each other. Many years later, when I came to travel frequently on Brockport-Spencerport Rd., I often thought of him. When I didn't find his name in the phone book I mistakenly believed he must have died. I was obviously wrong and wish I had known I was. My sincere sympathy to Lorraine and to Vern's family.
