Burt was a Financial wizard, graduating with 3 degrees from the University of Rochester; B.S., MBA, and PhD abd in Education. The family is especially forever grateful to the Brockport High School Guidance counselor, who upon asking Burt what he thought he would do after High School and hearing him say “ I thought I would like to go to the University of Rochester”, scoffed and summarily dismissed that idea, advising that he “would never be able to attend that University and he should think of a different plan”.  Burt believed challenges were opportunities for growth and never met a challenge he could not surmount.

Burt married Sally while serving in the US Air Force in Tripoli, Libya, and Spokane, Washington.  Upon discharge from the service Burt towed their 45-foot mobile home back to their childhood hometown of Brockport, NY where they resided while he attended the University of Rochester as a commuter student using GI Bill benefits.  Fresh out of College with his B.S. in Accounting, Burt worked for General Electric in Utica, NY.  Subsequently, Burt moved on to employment with Xerox in the early 60s while residing in Spencerport, NY where the family attended The White Church (First Congregational Church) where he was a Deacon.  Burt then moved on from employment with Xerox to Stone Construction in Honeoye, NY, and then eventually to Orenstein & Koppel Trojan first in Batavia, NY and then in Austell, GA reporting to the world Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany as the Chief Financial Officer.  Burt was a firm believer in education and other than the great pride he had in his family one of his greatest joys later in life was working as an adjunct Professor at the State University of Brockport, as he felt that he was giving back to the community and helping others.

Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Sabur Stables Harness Horses along with his wife Sally; breeding and owning multiple Sires Stakes winning Harness Horses racing throughout the United States, New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Florida and Canada. In later life Sally and Burt were snowbirds that thoroughly enjoyed their last 20 years of winters in Deland Florida, with summers at their home on Honeoye Lake with their treasured Sunny Hollow neighbors.
