The Reynolds house was always a safe place for me growing up. Terry and I became close friends during middle school and I would often runaway from my house to hers where
Mrs. Reynolds lovingly took me in. She always made me laugh, offered good things to eat, and gave me a sense that I was valued and loved as a person. She would encourage me to call my mom to let her know I had run away to Terry’s.
Mrs. Reynolds would sing,
“Alfie” to Alfie the dog, told me about Mama Cass, invited me along to basket ball games, encourage good work in school and taught me the value of a good and trustworthy friend.
I have numerous memories of a lovely woman whose character attributes were synonymous with her external, radiant beauty.
I’m grateful that I had the privilege of knowing such a lady.
