Obituary of Michael W. Sodoma
Brockport - Michael W. Sodoma passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the age of 60. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert D. and Carol Sodoma, as well as his father-in-law, Walter Lapinski, and his brother-in-law, Michael Schafer. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Lapinski Sodoma; his children, Zach, Chris, and Laney; his mother-in-law, Ruth Lapinski; his sister, Tracey Schafer (Steve Becker); his brother, Robert A. (Kim) Sodoma; brothers-in-law David Lapinski (Sarah), Mike Lapinski (Jennifer); sisters-in-law Judy (John) Lubarski, Sandy Lapinski, Kathy (Jeff) Newman; cherished aunts, Pricilla Beeman and Karen Sodoma; and many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Mike, a proud graduate of the Cornell University class of 1985, embodied the legacy of a third-generation farmer. Renowned for his meticulous care of the apple orchards and his mastery in irrigating the family farm, he balanced his agrarian dedication with an avid passion for history as an ardent reader. Witnessing his children excel and compete in various athletic events was a source of immense joy for him. He will be deeply missed by his close family and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, January 12, at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave., Brockport, NY. Mike’s Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 13, at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3747 Brick Schoolhouse Rd., Hamlin, NY. A graveside service will be held later in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church or a charity of your choosing in honor of Mike.
