Obituary of Carolyn H. Ramsay

Carolyn Adella Hepler Ramsay, of Brockport, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Unity Living Center at St. Mary’s Hospital, 89 Genesee Street, Rochester, NY at the age of 83.

Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Donald Joseph Ramsay, her parents Ida Hepler and Reverend Albert Walker Hepler Jr., her brother Raymond M. Pierson, and her beloved cat Maeve. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Ann Marchese and husband, Robert Marchese, Wendy Ramsay and partner, Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, Rebecca Ramsay Foster and husband, Mac Foster, and her siblings Barbara Stewart, Albert (Happy) Walker Hepler III, Beverly Bottema, Janet VanRysevyk, and Charles Hepler, and her granddaughter from another mother, Danielle Timmons, as well as many inlaws, nieces and nephews.

Carolyn met her husband, Donald, at Perry High School. She became a registered nurse who graduated from Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She also studied at Ithaca College and later at SUNY Brockport. Throughout her lifetime, Carolyn enjoyed playing bridge, participating in community theater, crocheting, knitting, and sewing, reading mystery and sci fi/fantasy novels, listening to music, participating in church activities, and spending time with her cat Maeve.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave, Brockport, NY with a short service to follow. Her ashes will be laid to rest next to her husband, Donald, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Brockport NY.
