Samuel James Mattison

Dateline: Avon, NY 1999-2003, Brockport/Kendall area 2003-current

Samuel James Mattison died unexpectedly on Saturday July 29.  He was born in Niskayuna NY and was living with his beautiful family in Brockport NY at the time of his passing.  Sam is survived by his beautiful Fiancé Maria, and his beautiful children Mikaylah, Mark, and Isabella. His father Michael, his mother Kimberly and his two brothers Jarrod and Andrew.

Sam was a good man, beloved by all whom he met. Not always gentle with words, honesty can be harsh sometimes, but kind of heart and willing to give anything he could to whomever needed it. Always willing to help when needed, despite his tendencies to be late to everything. Completely caring of his children who came first and foremost in his life. A man of conscience who loved to be right. A man who had a style all his own and a hard worker when the work suited him.  When not however, he would undoubtedly offer a better way, or so he thought. Sam so loved his job at the marina, and boating life in general. He very much enjoyed spending long hours in his father’s garage tinkering or helping with the odd project and of course the sailboats. He is loved and will be missed by all. Carry on sweet boy.

Calling hours for Sam will be held at the Fowler Funeral Home at 4pm to 7pm Thursday August 3rd, his service will be held at The Church of the Nativity, in Brockport NY at 9:30 AM on Friday, August 4th, followed immediately by his burial at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
