Obituary of Bonnie L. Weiss

Bonnie L. Weiss of Buffalo, NY passed away on June 25, 2023. Bonnie was born March 23, 1942, in Dunkirk, NY to Oscar and Marion Weiss. After graduating from Hamburg High School in 1960, she spent 30+ years working in the Buffalo area, first for Liberty Mutual and then for the University of Buffalo. She earned an associate’s degree at UB. During the 1990s, Bonnie organized a chapter of the National Stuttering Association at UB and was on the Board of Directors of that association for many years. She compiled a newsletter for children who stuttered. She was a Toast Master and gave talks in Western NY for civic groups and speech therapy classes on life as a stutterer. She loved to sing and sang with the choir and the Praise team of the Cleveland Drive United Presbyterian Church in Cheektawoga. Bonnie was predeceased by her sisters Ruth Smith of LeRoy NY and Nancy Meade of Lake Forest CA . She is survived by siblings Carol of Nyack NY, John of Dover OH, and Joanne Janus of Charleston SC. Many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends will mourn her loss.

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 1-3 pm at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., 340 West Ave., Brockport.

A Memorial Service for Bonnie will be held on August 20, 2023 at 2 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 7484 W Bergen Rd, Bergen, NY 14416.
