Dorothy R. Burke

Brockport: On December 7, 2022, Dorothy Burke passed away in the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital.  She lived a complete life full of love.  One that few people ever achieve.  She grew up in Utica, NY, attended Utica Catholic Academy, and there she met her prince, Donald Burke.  They married in 1952 at St. John’s Old Historical Church and spent 52 years of a charmed and happy life together.  All Dorothy ever wanted out of life was to marry her beloved and have a family.  She assisted her husband in his oral surgery practice for 35 years and devoted her life to helping him attain his goals.  Dorothy is survived by three children and their spouses: Daniel Burke, Kellie Burke, and her husband Michael Falkenstein, and Kathleen and her husband James Mitchell.  Dorothy had six treasured grandchildren: Dr. Devin Burke, Courtnie Burke, Donald J. Mitchell, Kaylee Mitchell, Danielle Falkenstein, and Molly Falkenstein.  She was blessed with wonderful caregivers at Evergreen Place.  Her whole life was spent cooking for her family and working with her husband.  She was well rewarded with children who surrounded her with much love and care after the death of her husband.  Calling hours are from 4:00-6:00 on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., 340 West Ave., Brockport, and a graveside service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Saturday at 10:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, please give some to those you love.
