I met Mr. Borkholder as a student in Greece’s summer enrichment science program in 1968-ish. Unlike standard “summer school,” both the students and the teachers wanted to be there, and Mr. B. was an enthusiastic instructor who cared for his students. Sadly, I never had the pleasure of being taught by him, moving to high school. He was an inspiring teacher who I always remembered. - Rick C.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great neighbor that loved to tease us. I remember the times he would ask me to babysit his children and then try to charge me for the privilege of watching them. He would ask how long I watched the TV or if I ate anything so he could charge me for that too. I remember a time when he had me help him sheer his sheep. He would grab a hand full of wool, lift it up and then run the clipper Sometimes he would sheer a little too deep. Those poor sheep. I remember having to help him register his mini horses. He was never up to date on breeding dates or birthing dates. If there ever was something we needed help with he was always there to help. Sometimes just with a suggestion on how we should do it but he was there. We will miss him terribly.

There are many laughs and fun times that cannot be stolen. Thanks for all your help through the years-with the kids, with the chores, with the horses. Great neighbors are a blessing from the Lord.

I met Jerry during my freshman year at Buff State when I pledged a fraternity and Jerry became my "Big Brother". When Jerry and I were both teachers, we installed in ground swimming pools during summers. I worked either with him or for him for ten years. Regardless of time lapses in seeing each other, when we got together it was like no time had passed. Jerry was strong and determined yet always kind, ethical and always willing to help. Gerry and my friendship will last into eternity. Fritz

We had some wonderful times together. Nothing can erase those fond memories. You were such a good friend Fritz and he always enjoyed getting together with you - including myself with the "gang". Many laughs.
