Elton, Marjorie (Slater)
Albion/Spencerport: Age 89, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2012. Daughter of the late Frank and Olive Slater. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, of 42 years who was a Kodak engineer with many patents. She is survived by her son, William (Jeri) of Midland, Texas and her daughter, Elizabeth (Neal) Kistner of Albion, New York. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1941. She attended business school and was a private secretary for many years before she was married. She lived in Spencerport for 47 years before moving to Albion, New York. She was a loving, devoted, nurturing stay at home mom to her children. She attended all her children's events at school and church. She was active in the Spencerport Senior Citizens Group, the Each One Teach One (Literacy Volunteers), the American Red Cross, a deacon at Ogden Presbyterian Church. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Albion. She loved to make photo albums and had 31 albums dated back to her grandparents. She loved to play pinochle, to travel, to swim and took many trips with her husband and children, family and friends. She loved birds, cats, animals, sports, TV (QVC< PBS< TCM), clothes and to read. She loved her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She leaves her sisters, a twin, Dorothea Nelson, Brockport, NY, Mary Lou Ott (Carl), of Rochester, NY, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She leaves her grandchildren Jay (Sara) Elton, Whitney Elton, Samantha Elton, Kelly (James) Pettit, Todd (Rebecca) Kistner, Lee (Nicole) Kistner and Matthew Kistner. She leaves her great grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Lydia, Claire, Andrew and Anna Pettit, Aiden Kistner and Benjamin Kistner. There will be no calling hours at the request of the family. There will be a funeral service at Fowler Funeral Home 340 West Ave, Brockport, NY on Tuesday July 24th at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua, NY following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to any animal or veterans organizations of your choice.
