I have may memories and they all start at the Battistis house on Clay Avenue. I unfortunately do not speak OR understand Italian, but anytime i was there Mrs. Battisti always made me feel welcome. Soon my sister Patty married her son Loretto, (AKA Lar-Bear), and well that was that we were now family. I would want to chat and always felt bad that i could not understand her at all. I would have to look around the room for someone to help translate, she always seemed to understand. Mrs Battisti nor my Mama drove so they would chat on the phone and I used to get a good kick out of hearing my mother "TRY" to talk Italian to Mrs. Battisti it always put a smile on my face as my mother really does not speak Italian either. My mother would hang up the phone look at me smiling and say " she understood every word" Well i will never know if Mrs. Battisti did understand her but i will enjoy the memories. Love, Linda

I have known Giovannina my whole life. She was family to me. I remember the picnics at Hamlin Beach, Thanksgivings and so many more great times. I will miss her. She was a great lady. Always smiling and laughing. God bless her. She has left a great legacy. Love, 'Vovi'
