The "Big Blister" was not only a great race car driver, but also an outstanding person. He raced hard and clean. He was a gentleman. I am so fortunate to have known Lee Bliss!

Godspeed to one of the all-time greats and "founders" of Oswego Speedway. It was people like you who made the speedway great, not only with your athletic abilities but also your friendship, willingness to help your fellow competitors and the time spent with your many fans.

MY SINCEREST SYMPATHY IN THE PASSING OF A VERY FINE GENTLEMAN, LEE BLISS. BACK IN 1958 MY PARENTS TOOK MY BROTHER AND I TO THE RACES AT THE OSWEGO SPEEDWAY IN OSWEGO, NEW YORK. WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SPORT OF AUTO RACING, THAT STILL CONTINUES TO THIS DAY. ONE OF OUR VERY FAVORITE DRIVERS WAS "LEE 'THE BIG BLISTER' BLISS FROM ROCHESTER, NEW YORK." (AS THE LATE, GREAT TACK ANNOUNCER JACK BURGESS WOULD INTRODUCE LEE EVERY WEEK). HOW WE SO ENJOYED CHEERING ON LEE, AS HE WAS A VERY CLEAN DRIVER, A SPORTSMAN, A CHAMPION, AND AS I HAVE STATED PREVIOUSLY A GENTLEMAN. I HAVE VERY FOND MEMORIES OF THE RACES AT THE OSWEGO SPEEDWAY FROM THE FIFTIES AND SIXTIES. AND LEE BLISS IS AMONG THE BIGGEST AND FONDEST. I CHERISH MY PICTURES AND AUTOGRAPHS OF "THE BIG BLISTER" THAT I HAVE. GOD BLESS. MR. WENDELL HOWARD AND MR. WALTER HOWARD.
P.S. A FEW YEARS AGO THE OSWEGO SPEEDWAY HELD THEIR ANNUAL 'OLDTIMERS REUNION' AND I HAD THE PRIVELEDGE TO MEET ONE OF MY HEROES ONCE AGAIN....LEE BLISS.
