EJ was my boss back in 1982 when he told me (after my summer job ended) “why don’t you go down and join the marines they’ll make a man out of you” I did and the rest is history. He was awesome!

Elliott may you now be in peace. Every time I saw you at a family function I’d make my way over to you to see how you were doing and check in because I always knew you’d have a good story or make me laugh. Then you’d be gone like Casper lol. You were great Elliott and I was glad to have known you!

Elliott and Sue were wonderful friends for many years. I first met Sue when she was teaching English at Churchville-Chili Junior High and I was teaching Latin in the room next to hers. We became fast friends and our husbands joined the party. Eliot was always the first one to help out in any situation. He was fun-loving and kind. We lost touch after I went on maternity leave and then transferred to the high school. I just have great memories of Eliot. I know everyone will miss him.

Elliott was my cousin and although I haven't seen a lot of him lately I will miss him greatly.
Here is one of my favorite memories of Elliott: Back in 2001, Elliott decided that our Uncle George needed a hand painting his house. He said that if we could get a few people together we could do it in a day. Then we could cook some hots and make a day of it. And if we couldn't do it in a day we didn't deserve the hot dogs.
We ended up getting about 18 or 20 nieces, nephews and friends there and painting the house in about 2 hours. So we got our hot dogs.
This was a great example of Elliott's "can do" attitude and showed that you could get a lot done and have fun doing it.
RIP, Elliott.
Your Cuz,
Jerry Reynolds

What can you say about someone who was bigger than life? Always there to help. Always with a story to make you laugh. A big man with a bigger heart. An individual with true grit who I would want in my fox hole. To a true friend who will be sorely missed. Thank you for being. You fought the good fight. Your friend always. Doc Gaden.

As an adolescent friend and co-worker of Elliott's for the Village of Spencerport, I was so proud to be able to spend some amazing time with him when we worked togetther at the Sh-t Plant and picking up junk around the Village on Friday afternoons. His Mom & Dad were great friends with my parents and my Dad always said the "apple didn't fall far from the tree" when it came to Elliott's antics and personality.
I'm sure he's being swamped in heaven with all the people that want to welcome him home and listen to his side splitting stories.
Rest in peace Elliott - job well done. Say hi to Sue and my granddaughter. Unitl we meet again.
Jim McKinney

My deepest condolences to all who loved Elliot. I cried when I heard the news. Elliot was always so sweet to me and although I hadn't seen him in years, I thought of him often. I can easily remember the very first time I met him. You just don't forget a man like Elliot. I laughed through my tears last night as I told my daughter some of my favorite Elliot stories. I can't post them here (LOL).....but oh the laughs the three of us had back in the day. To those that knew him much longer than I did....I'm green with envy and also so sorry for your loss. Elliot is the type of man that immediately upon meeting him you wished you could have known him all of your life. At least that's how I felt. He was absolutely one of my favorite Veterans. As I got to know Elliot more each time that I saw him, he'd tell me about some shenanigans back in his earlier days. One time I laughed so hard as this occurred to me and I told him "So basically you're my older version of Gary Smith" and he laughed right along with me. Sue and I also chatted about these "boys" one day at the house....they gave us quite a bit of common ground...LOL Yet their differences were many not to mention big. There will never be another Elliot. To Jen, Allen and families, I wish I could come give you a huge hug. Unfortunately I wont be able to but please know that I'm sending so much love to you all at this most heartbreaking time. They say that when someone passes it leaves a hole in your heart. Not true.....Elliot will forever be in my heart.
Terri (Terri and Gary)

At the Altar of the Sun
They were prayin' for the lovers
In the Valley of the Gun
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared
There was thunder from the throne
And seven Spanish Angels
Took another angel home"

I worked for the big guy in the summer 1982. He had a marine hat on his head which spoke volumes. He walked flank to flank and didn’t take shit from any rank as they say in the marines. Summer ended and so did my job. He told me to go down and join the marines they’ll make a man out of you. I did just that. Best advice I ever got and retired after 25 years. I personally thanked him for that advice. I’ll see you in Valhalla!
