I have many fond memories of “Mr. Milner” from my high school days playing 4 seasons of sports. He was in his element in any athletic arena and surrounded by young people and families. Sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity , dedication and fun were the main goals, winning was the cherry on top!
Years after graduation (‘81), it was a wonderful surprise to find that Jack’s daughter Kerri had moved in across the street! We were able to connect on and off through the years…, catching up here and there. My most recent standout memory of Jack was at Jake’s graduation. Of course it happened during Covid, so there we were, some in cars, but family and neighbors spread out along the street celebrating Jake! Jack happened to stand right next to my mailbox, and we got to catch up again, as it turned out, for the last time. But boy, was he so proud of his Jake! And of all of his kids and grandkids! He was telling me all about each of them, where they were right then and what they were doing and how amazing they are! Going to miss you Jack, but not as much as your awesome family.

I had the opportunity of working with Jack for several years. I can best describe him as a true professional in all that he accomplished. I was honored to work with him daily. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend his viewing on Saturday. Joan and I must travel to Williamsport, Pa. to visit Joan's only brother who is gravely ill with pancreatic cancer. We do keep the family : Bev , the girls and grandchildren in our thoughts as we remember Jack. Wilson F. Buddle, Principal of the A.D. Oliver Middle School 1971-1992

We met Jack and Bev quite by accident when all of us wintered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was one of the best "accidents" we ever had! We had so much fun over the years in Myrtle Beach. We golfed a lot; we played cards and other games; we enjoyed the ocean; we ate at some fantastic restaurants (Remember the one Jack chose when it was his turn to pick, Bev? AND that was after doing extensive research!); we even took shag dance lessons (I still tell people about his "graceful exit" after our lesson at H's; makes me laugh just thinking about it!). Jack and Bev joined us and other friends on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate the end of my chemo treatments. What fun! We were glad we had the chance to show them around our little corner of the world in Iowa, and we were equally happy to tour Brockport and the surrounding area when we stayed with them after our trip to Canada to visit other Myrtle Beach friends. We cherish our memories of Jack! They are all wonderful!! He will be missed by all his friends and family.

My prayers and condolences to the Milner family at Jack’s passing.
Beginning in the mid 1960’s our paths crossed when I officiated basketball games when he coached at Holley Central and at Churchville.
Additionally, we both got hired by Churchville the same year and we were both friends and colleagues during his tenure there. Later, I worked with him as an instructional consultant when he was principal in Brockport. Jack was a great educator and a friend.

Sending my deepest sympathies to the Milner family at this time of loss. I attended Brockport High School with Jack and I always remember what a fine young man he was and a wonderful addition to our class. My fondest memories are of following our beloved Blue Devils basketball team of which Jack was a key player. Cheering him on every Friday night is one of my best memories of our High School years. His starting the The Challenger baseball team was also special to me as my great nephew enjoyed participating in the team. He touched many lives in many special ways.
