When I was little, we lived next door to Aunt Edie and Uncle Gerald. One summer Vicki and her friends were picking the tomatoes out of the garden, and being about 4 years old, I wanted to help. Vicki was sorting out the rotten tomatoes and tossing them off to the side, when I ran straight into the path of one of those rotten tomatoes. Hit me square in the face. I started crying and Vicki scooped me up and gave me a hug, helped me wash my face in the rain barrel and teased me until I started to giggle about it. It's a memory that has lasted for 50 years.
