Good Bye my 9th Grade Science Class Partner and Friend.
I moved out of the Rochester area after college in 1982 and we didn’t keep in touch. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t remember and think of you. You were my “IPS Partner” in Mrs. Yeskey’s class. When I read that you prematurely departed our earthly domain, I was deeply saddened and thought back on all the times we shared in that IPS class and heard your absolutely infectious laugh in my mind. I smiled broadly amidst the sadness. Your close friends and family will know exactly what I’m talking about and who could forget that! I never will. Many times when we were doing experiments in class, we’d look at each other and just kind of guess at what we were supposed to do. I’d close my eyes and hope for the best!!
In my mind until last week, I knew that I would probably hear that unforgettable laugh again at some future class reunion or function. Now it is only a memory, which I will treasure the rest of my life, but now know that I’ll never hear it again. To me, that’s really, REALLY sad!
Your family and friends now face a huge loss in their lives. That’s very unfortunate but they will always have the memories. Treasure them and don’t let them fade. Even though it has been well over 30 years, I will always remember those times.
May God bless all your family and friends,
Scott Cornish
